Tony, Grammy and Drama Desk nominee Max von Essen (American in Paris, Anastasia) makes his solo West Coast debut with consummate showman, jazz pianist, arranger and musical director, Billy Stritch. Having completed a sold out Birdland run, the pair will bring us von Essen's new show Call Me Old Fashioned: The American Standard. Reviewing von Essen's 2019 album of the same name, Broadway World praises this artist for having a voice that's made for this genre and for having "found the perfect balance between modern Broadway star and golden age elegance".

Bay Area audiences will remember von Essen from his performance as Marvin, the married dad turned out gay man who learns to navigate his new roles and relationships, in the Lincoln Center's revival and tour of Falsettos. Hear him speak about it in the below YouTube video, and don't miss this long-awaited Bay Area debut of one of Broadway's most versatile and accomplished actor/singer/dancers.
