On November 10th, Tony and Emmy Award-winning singer/actres LaChanze makes her long-awaited Bay Area solo concert debut. She'll perform her powerful autobiographical show Feeling Good, which originated at Joe's Pub and was a hit at venues like The Cabaret in Indianapolis and New York's Highline Ballroom. With a gift for storytelling, LaChanze will offer our audience a peek into her fascinating life through song, with original material as well as musical highlights from her career.

LaChanze earned her first Tony nomination in her first starring role on Broadway, playing the central role of "Ti Moune" in the original 1990 production of Once on this Island. She won the 2006 Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical for originating the role of "Celie" in The Color Purple, and returned to Broadway in 2014 in the musical If/Then with Rent stars Anthony Rapp and Idina Menzel. She sang "Amazing Grace" at the 9/11 Memorial, in honor of her husband whom she lost to the tragedy. She earned a 2018 Tony nomination for her starring role in Summer: The Donna Summer Musical. In the summer of 2019, La Chanze originated the role of August in Duncan Sheik and Lynn Nottage's new, off-Broadway production of The Secret Life of Bees, Variety praised her "serene glow" and "voice of amazing grace." Additional Broadway credits include Ragtime, Company and Uptown..it's Hot (with our season's opening night artist Maurice Hines).
