It is Bay Area Cabaret's pleasure to present the Bay Area debut of Broadway's Funny Girl standby-to-breakout star JULIE BENKO! Having just released an eclectic CD of American standards and original songs, or "Quarantunes", Julie and her husband, the accomplished musical director JASON YEAGER, will perform selections from their first Club 44 jazz album release Hand in Hand, by composers as wide-ranging as Billy Strayhorn, Anais Mitchell (Hadestown), Rodgers and Hammerstein and Janis Joplin. Accompanied by a full band for this performance, Jason and Julie will reveal a few unexpected musical talents, and perform a beautiful and brand new version of a Funny Girl hit, as they take us behind the scenes of their playful, tender New York romance.
